February 2007
Throughout the entire holiday season the Listrak development team has been busy setting the stage for what we believe is going to be a blockbuster year of innovation at Listrak. We've been spending a lot of time lately positioning the Listrak code base to take advantage of the changing dynamic of email marketing. Our mission is to help our customers truly capitalize on the potential for email marketing. To that end, I want to offer a peek into our development plans for 2007.
While the often heralded benefit of email is the catalytic process of driving response to a website, the piece that doesn’t get much positive press is the labor required to the deliver the right message at the right time. Getting timing and relevancy correct usually means moving from a batch and blast mindset to one that is focused on the customer or prospect’s lifecycle. Many times one singular campaign is not enough; rather a series of campaigns containing the right message at the right time is the appropriate approach to gain the highest response. At Listrak we call this Event Triggered Messaging, and later in 2007 we'll unveil a Listrak feature that we've been working on that will revolutionize how companies look at email marketing within their marketing mix.
We'll also be releasing a completely new approach to implementing Dynamic Content later in 2007. The power of email marketing is really based around relevancy and automation and our customers have found that by leveraging the feature set of a product like Listrak, they can send much more relevant messaging than they could on their own. Our new approach to Dynamic Content makes not only creating messages with Dynamic Content easier, but our tool also puts much more power in the hands of the campaign creator which is great news for our customers.
The next thing that you'll be hearing from us in 2007 is the notion of testing. Specifically we'll be talking about how Listrak can make testing certain elements of your email campaign a breeze. We've got a lot of very cool new features under development within this subject and we'll be releasing more information as we get further into 2007.
Beyond the development that is currently underway, we’re ecstatic to release our RSS publishing system as well as our Media Library. You can learn more about these two very important new features below.
We’re excited for what the New Year will bring. For anyone looking to discuss our new features or perhaps take a closer look at their own email marketing strategy, my door is always open.
Cheers!

Listrak announced that it is revolutionizing email marketing. Listrak has added a feature that allows users to insert RSS feeds containing links to social bookmarking sites to their email marketing campaigns. This feature combines the latest Web 2.0 technology with the power of Listrak’s email marketing software, giving users an expanded marketing scope that is potentially limitless. Listrak’s unprecedented email marketing software enables companies to decrease implementation costs while minimizing demands on their IT departments. Read More
Listrak announced that it has added a media library to its feature-rich email marketing solution. The media library makes it easy for email marketers to store, manage, and insert files to email campaigns while eliminating the technical difficulties that are usually associated with this task. It supports .bmp, .jpg, .jpeg, .tif, .tiff, .gif, .png, .pdf, .txt, .text, .doc, .rtf, .asc, .faq, .xls, .html, .htm, and .hlp file extensions and stores up to 25 megabytes. Read More
Listrak reports will now recognize the Title Tag as the name of the link in order to shorten the length of tags. For example, the tag <a href="http://listrak.com" title="Listrak"> would now be displayed in the URL report simply as “Listrak”. This makes your URL reports more readable and understandable as it eliminates long URL tags and replaces them with the page titles.
Listrak has created product tutorials for RSS and Media Library. These video demonstrations are an easy to use guide that will show you how to use the new product features. Both tutorials walk you step-by-step through the process so you will be able to implement the features into your next email campaign.
A customer just walked through your door and wants to begin a long-term relationship with your company. What’s your response? Do you stoically confirm that a relationship has begun, or do you warmly greet your new customer, explaining more about what you offer and thank them for their business? Your email list or newsletter welcome letter sent immediately after a new opt-in works in the same manner. It’s part of the first impression of your business and it should reflect your brand, culture, and values. Read More
Even though RSS has been around since the mid 1990s, its potential as an essential marketing toll is just beginning to be realized. Marketing directors, especially those that are focused on using email marketing to reach their intended audiences, need to incorporate RSS as an efficient and cost effective alternative to traditional marketing methods. The web-based nature of RSS goes hand-in-hand with email marketing. Marketers are using this technology to drive more customers to their websites, update their customers on corporate or industry news, and increase customer satisfaction and loyalty. All of this translates into additional business and increased ROI. Read More
You wouldn’t let a high-budget ad campaign hit the press without a compelling headline. But many marketers overlook the importance of their email subject lines. In a similar manner, your subject line determines whether your subscriber opens your email, deletes it, or even mistakenly reports it as spam. As email marketing success soars, and as more marketers take advantage of this valuable communication channel, daily message volumes continue to rise. To sort through all of the messages, recipients are using the subject lines as a gatekeeper. This means that smart marketers must take full advantage of clever copywriting techniques to boost response. Read More
