Dynamic Profiling

ISPs monitor the number of bounced messages you generate, and if you reach a certain threshold, your reputation will be damaged and your messages will be blocked.  That is why it is so important for you to examine your bounces closely and carefully.

Listrak automatically removes hard bounces from your list so you do not continue to send messages to invalid addresses.  However, you may determine how you want the system to handle soft bounces.  A soft bounce is a message that is temporarily unavailable and it is caused by a server that is down for a short amount of time, an inbox that is full and cannot accept additional messages until older messages are deleted and space becomes available, etc.  Because the problem is temporary it is okay for you to resend the message to these addresses.  However, as each bounce counts against your reputation, you must do so with caution.

In Listrak, you can set the number of delivery attempts as well as the number of days the attempts should be made.  You can track the activity through the Soft Bounce Activity Report.  This report shows you the subject lines of your messages grouped by campaigns, the date and time the messages were sent, the number of messages that were sent, the total number of bounces each message generated, the total number of soft bounces the messages generated, the number of resends that remain, and the number of days remaining that delivery will be attempted.  You can click on the number in the number in the Soft Bounce column to view the individual email addresses of the contacts that have bounced, the bounce code, and the number of times the email bounced to each particular address.
