Road Runner, owned and operated by Time Warner Cable, is one of the nation's premier broadband service providers. The Road Runner service is available only in a broadband form to customers within the Time Warner Cable territory.
Road Runner has implemented its own set of SPAM filters, including a top layer of mail gateways whose primary function is to identify unsolicited messages coursing onto the network. Lately, they've been blocking about 40 percent of the messages coming in, most of them related to proxy servers, open hijackings or other known SPAM source networks.
Email senders looking to achieve maximum deliverability at Road Runner will want to work with their ISP to ensure that their mailing IP address does not originate from a network labeled as residential, dynamically assigned or otherwise deemed for non-commercial uses. Road Runner as well as many of the ISPs listed in this whitepaper have their email filters tuned to discard or route mail originated from these networks into bulk mail folders.
