Message Activity Report

The email marketing metric that is used most often to determine the success of a campaign is the click rate.  If recipients are clicking on the links in your message, it means that they are interested in learning more about your offers, and it means that your content and calls-to-action were clearly stated and enticing.

Like other email metrics, you must know how the metric is calculated in order to ensure accurate reports.  Some ESPs only report on the total number of clicks, which gives you an inflated view of the number of contacts that are interested in your messages.  Listrak’s Message Activity Report provides the number of total clicks along with the number of unique clicks so you can see the exact number of individual contacts that clicked on your message, not just the number of clicks your message received.

From there, you can drill down to the Message Tracking Report, which shows you each tracking link in a specific message, the number of total and unique clicks, and the click percentage.  This gives you a great overview of how your recipients responded to your message and lets you track the success of each link.

From the Message Tracking Report, you can view the Link Tracking Report, which shows you the individual email addresses of all of the contacts that clicked on a specific link.  You can add this information to the subscribers’ profiles automatically so you have a record of the information they are viewing so you know what their interests are.
